Your main colony looks small enough to position it next to the surface you want it to grow on. That's what I've done. I was told not to try to glue it.

I was thinking that they didn't like the high light of that area since the colony was at the bottom of your tank.They haven't died yet but no, they never opened up

The frags are definitely in a lower flow area...MODERATE WATER FLOW AND MODERATE LIGHTING- THEYRE NOT BIG ON BRIGHT WHITES AND salinity range of 1.024-1.026
