I have noticed that there are Nudibranchs on my GSP. At least I think it could be. Need help identifying what exactly these are and if they are good or bad.

My GSP used to be thriving and now it will barely extend some polyps. That’s when I noticed these small inverts on it. Please help!

Thanks in advanced.

Many people would pay for a GSP eating nudibranch.

Jokes aside the GSP eating nudibranch I was able to find is called "Phyllodesmium briareum" but it looks really different. I think what you have there is a sea slug but not necessarily a nudibranch.

There are quite a few reports of people having sea slugs on their GSP but it's really hard to see on your photo due to the heavy blue lighting. Maybe you can add an image under neutral light as well?

Here’s another pic. Not the best. In this pic, I count 4 of them. There are a lot on my GSP. I’ve even found them wondering around on my glass and 1 the other night, on the sand bed on the opposite end of my tank.

My wife wanted the GSP. That’s the only reason why I have them. They are on their own rock separated and not touching anything! I don’t want them to spread.

Not so sure that these are leopard polyclad flatworms. Looks different to me. I could be wrong though.

Here is another pic I took of one. However, the lights are blue but you can see the disk under it while it moves. Hopefully this helps. IMG_7938.png

I have done a coral dip on the GSP and about a dozen or so came off during the dip. There are at least that amount if not more still on my GSP. I will probably do another dip and try to get rid of them.

My concern is that I have now found 2 on the glass and another across the tank on the sand bed. If they are that far away from the GSP, then they could be anywhere.

They mostly have been on the GSP though from what I have seen.

Thank you! Good read. Now I am super nervous. I will be doing another dip tomorrow.

I have a young leopard wrasse but I haven’t seen it for a couple of days now. Used to be out everyday, all day. Constantly eating pods and eats frozen also. Hope it comes back out and is okay.

Yeah, I don't have time to see if a species ID is possible from the pics, but it's definitely a Dermatobranchus species here (I have seen a lot of Dermatobranchus sp. that are either hybrid species or undescribed species, so proper ID's aren't always possible).
