I have learned a lot about this hobby since I jumped in.
I have had a GSP in my tank for about a month or so, the polyps open fine, but the bright green ends have subsided and now the polyps are just brownish when they are open.

It looks a ton better in the LFS
I have moved it to the center of the tank - maybe was getting too Much flow

Here’s my latest readings
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5-10
SL - 23
Temp 80.2

Should I start dosing anything ? I haven’t and don’t know where to start w that.

There are different color variations of GSP. That coral like flow so I don't think that's an issue. The LFS lights could also make them seem brighter. In your parameters, what does SL mean? If that's supposed to be salt gravity I'd raise it to 1.025-26 or 35ppt.

The coral color was great when I brought it home.
And was good for about 2 weeks.
Since the its getting duller.
SL should actually mean Gravity yes.. my mistake ...
.25.26 ... ok I’ll try that.
That’s on the higher level of the spectrum- correct ?

Can you post a pic of the coral. Typically reef tanks are kept at a salt gravity 1.025 what's you alk, calcium and magnesium read? I wouldn't dose unless you can test for those.

One pic is when I first got it.
The other is current.

I don’t know the other readings sadly.

GSP doesn't need alk, calc, or mag....so no need to check (unless you also have hard corals.) I'm guessing too much or too little light. I'd also drop that temperature...that's a bit high.

How is everything else in the tank doing? I have never, ever seen gsp do that. What lighting was it under at the store? It looks like it bleached when added to your tank.

All things considered- my leather is doing good.
My 4 fish are good as well.

Why is it bleaching and now can I get it to stop ?

Its hard to say without being there. Get your salinity up to 1.025-26. Gsp likes medium flow. Just watch it for a few weeks, and see if any more color fades. Ive grown mine on the bottom, and at the top directly under t5's. Its happy no matter where i put it.

Mine faded to a little more on the yellowish side a while back. Since then they have been blasted with around 250ish par and fed every other day and the green is flourishing again. Just a suggestion.

I have a fluval Sea 25000k........

You don't have enough light!

What size tank and what specific Fluval Sea do you have?

These fixtures use SMD LEDs of very low power....around 0.2W/each. Accordingly intensity and penetration is very poor.

This coral came from an LFS with high intensity light to this now low intensity. There is a chance it can re-adjust to this low level, but who knows.

Model A3993 (24-34") has 168 LED, and 32 watts.....0.19W/LED

Model A3994 (36-46") has 252 Leds, and 46 watts....0.18W/LED

Just as a point of reference, the LED's I have over my tank put out 2.2W/LED. Low powered LEDs have poor penetration.

I have a 90 gallon tank with 165 LEDs (3 fixtures)....a total of 360W

But not another one of these lower powered LED models. You'd be better off with a Mars Aqua (around $100).....eBay or Amazon.

May not be a bad idea to slowly bring your temperature down too. 80.2 is too high for my liking. I would shoot for 78. What are you using to read your temperature?

Using a digital thermometer
