Actually, that is one of Cherry Corals farmers, MarineHabitat (AKA Acro76). The top picture (#1) is a picture I took of my large mother colony, grown from a frag from MarineHabitat several years ago.

This is a beautiful coral and lights up the tank with its four colors, bright red base, golden eyes, blue rim and bright green growth rim. Whoever gets the e-bay one will have a hard time deciding if they want to cut it up or keep it as a showpiece.

i'm with you on that one. heck even the acans dont do enough for me to want to pay high dollars for them. they are nice dont get me wrong but the price is crazy and not worth it IMO

i remember years ago i got a hold of a big rock full of true PPE pallys. veyr nice looking yes but i always thought there was much nicer. well at the time they sold for crazy prices on ebay. i chopped the rock up and sold 3 polyps frags for a few hundred bucks each. i paid 28.00 for the rock just like any other large pally rock i would order from the vendors. by the end of the third auction i felt so quilty for making so much on them i ended up breaking the rock into three peices and sending one chunck to each winner. They about fell out of there chair when they got them. Two week later is when i changed to my current pricing system

one guy never said a thing though. made me mad. I figure he thought he got away with soemthing and was affraid to say anything lol

the auction idea is great. get what you can when you can but i think it is also the cause of the crazy coral pricing structure that we have today.

The picture of the coral thats actually for sale doesnt even compare to the other shots. Why have pictures of a coral thats not even part of the auction?

$3000...if I had money to burn....there are more important things to think about spending things on than a coral...yes it's nice but not $3000 nice. that's just insane. JMO

Some people have more money than most of us could imagine. If I had so much money I didn't have to think about running out and I wanted that coral I would pay what ever it took to buy it. If two people like that start bidding we could see some really big numbers in the last few minutes.

I would not be surprised to find out there are collectors out there who have things that we've never heard of. Because of the price they would be things not even offered to us commoners.
