Curious to what schedule you are using for your gyre 200 series controllers.....
Here is my setup/schedule:
Pump: 2 XF250
Position: Horizontal 2 inches below surface
Tank: 8ft x 2ft x 2ft (240gal) bare bottom
Coral: Mostly SPS frags
0000-1230: Alternating gyre 2min at 50% forward -50% reverse (Anti-Synchronized)
1230-1330: Alternating gyre 10sec at 60% forward -80 reverse (Anti-Synchronized)
1330-1500: Random Mode at 80%
1500-2300: Alternating gyre 2min at 80% forward -80 reverse (Anti-Synchronized)
2300-0000: Random Mode at 70%
This schedule goes along with my lighting schedule.
I like the random mode to stir detritus up.
I like the Alternating gyre because it pushes all the surface scum into my overflows. I noticed pulsing and random mode would kind of push the surface scum back and forth in the middle between the 2 overflows instead of pushing it into them.
