I had to move and the place I moved to didn't have room for my reef tank. I had to leave it behind. I feel like I'm grieving. I miss the tank. I guess eventually I will build another one.

Can you guys help me a bit? Maybe any shared experience where you had to leave a tank behind, but eventually started a new tank. Maybe some nice pics of Zoa gardens and happy fish and crabs?

I had a 150 gal ecwifo (easy corals with fish only) tank for 7 years that i had to sell when i moved 9 years ago. Had 3 fish that were 7 years old and all of them at least 3. Was superbummed.

BUT here i am today with a year old red sea g2.

Perhaps a nano tank? Not as great as a bigger tank, but could scratch that itch anyway.
The place I'm at now is temporary. Sometime in the next 6 months I will be moving into a permanent place. I want to get a Fluval 32.5 the one I had to leave was a 13.5. I'm just having to crash on a friend's couch until there is an opening for me to get my place.

Thank you, seeing that gives me hope. The crab reminds me of my Ruby Crab. He loved messing with my Clove Polyps.

I've sold my first reef I had from 2007-2011 because I went abroad for a semester, I had a new tank in 2014 which I had to give up since it was in my bedroom and too loud and now I've got a 25g again. Bought a 100g tank but had to sell that because the place I wanted to have it wasn't strong enough.

I believe most things in life happen for a reason and maybe that tank was just too big for my taste? Maybe not enough DIY, maybe no time for it right now. Who knows. Just be patient and do whatever you can at the moment. You could plan your next tank ;)

Skip the fluval. I have it, it's thriving, but I hate a lot of things about it, mainly the curved front glass which makes it impossible to clean.

Been there. Set up my first salt aquarium in 1998 in Rhode Island. Then was permanently running from 2006 to 2018. I moved to California in 2018. Sold the house and had to take down my 180 in wall. And leave my 1000 gallon garden pond behind.

Was in an apartment for a year and I set up a little 40 breeder. Now it's been 5 years we own a new home here and I have my 320 gallon and 2000 gallon pond here!

Everyone is so supportive. Thank you for real. Once I get my next tank going I'm definitely posting about it.
