Does anyone have any experience with this species, cant find muh info on it, quality marine suggests its agressive but i wouldnt think it would be

The majority of halichoeres wrasses are usually rather peaceful, but, if the wholesaler says it's aggressive, I’d kind of err on their side.

They're in the same complex as the earmuff wrasse h melasmopomus (which I have). Should be very similar temperament to the smaller halichoeres wrasses, with the same requirements.

This article is the only one I’ve ever seen that mentioned pallidus

Doesn’t say much in terms of behavior

I think some of these lesser known wrasses end up looking pretty boring once acclimated to captive life. Earmuff wrasse for example, while still a beautiful fish, it's not quite as pink as these photos. I suspect h pallidus may end up being a mostly tan fish with highlights of peach pink. It's a fish I'd want to see wysiwyg pictures of before buying.

No personal experience with the species but I'd be very surprised if it was an aggressive species. I only know of one person to keep one and they said it was no different in care/behaviour/temperament than a H. chrysus. If I ever see one then I will get it.

Thanks, if you do get one please share photos, they look very cool

It’s not more popular do to its location and only one will collect. Me and others have always asked him to keep collection to a minimum and that’s how it stayed. This year more was going to be collected and have been put up for sale. The past was who you knew to get them with a small amount released for sale. Why were they not pushed before. I’m not sure except the color wasn’t oh wow nor were they ever know so selling them vs other wrasse would be limited until me and others made them known. Also where they come from has a special place in the only importer of them and I would say he wanted to keep it more sacred. It’s possible to get one collected and ahippped to USA if you know who to call. Sorry I can’t say who. Let’s say it’s largest importer to USA and he has a wrasse named after him that also is hard to get lol.

Pallidus is close relative to earmuff and tHalichoeres trispilus. You know that wrasse. Hmm if not why? I say same reason not known and colors are more blah. Pallidus is much more pink but also they will fade most times with age in a tank. Fish not studied or known are less common and because of that less known for sales. Also most loved and desired wrasse is ones that we find hard to get or less known and raises its price.
