Hammer coral acclimation

Hello I was looking into getting a hammer coral for my reef tank.

I been trying to look up how i should acclimate this coral. I know i need to dip it, but do people drip acclimate these corals or do you just put them right into the tank?

I have never drip-acclimated corals. I simply dip them and then place them into my system. :)

Don’t be surprised if they appear irritated for a couple of days; they likely will be. Just provide stable parameters and sufficient, but not too much, light.

I bought a gold hammer over the recent weekend, and it took a solid 2.5 days for it to appear happy and inflated.

alright thanks for the advice. I have been testing my water for 3 weeks making sure everything is stable before adding one. Everything seems good might go pick one up tomorrow!

How much do they usually cost per head? around 20-35$? Like i guess a basic one green or purple tipped.

Depending on your location, that may be what you can get them for from local hobbyists. If you’re going to a shop to get them, I suggest planning to spend $50+ since they have overhead and hobbyists usually don’t.
