I got this hammer coral about a month or so ago and as if recent it hasn't really extended like i see other hammers doing. Is this a issue and what can i do to fix it.

check parameters
it could be getting ready to split, mine start to close a bit when they do that but if it’s neither then maybe flatworms or it’s just mad something could’ve touched it

Do branching hammers split? Also do you think it could be a little bit of algae touching it?

they do split
usually takes a while and is rough on them from what i can tell
algae touching it should be fine but algae smothering it is not
