My hammer coral was perfectly fine with extremely nice tissue extension but due to another hammer dying I decided to dip it in case of bacterial infection spreading. Immediately after the dip in coral rx the hammer started literally melting. Am I going to lose this guy?

Hopefully that’s what’s going on but only time will tell. I’ll post what ends up happening
Please do. For what it's worth, any Hammer, Duncan, Torch, etc I dip looks similar to your photo... they close up and slime for a bit.

So after almost 24 hours this is how the corals look. The hammer looks like the tentacles were sharpened out but it seems to have stopped melting so I think it’ll take some time before it recovers. The zoas haven’t opened yet but haven’t melted either so fingers crossed with that. The Acan however is completely browned out and very tightly closed and browned out it’s looking very grim.

After pondering about it all day I think I may have confused a pint with a quart and overdosed coral rx which is an already potent dip so I think that was the cause of this event.

After lights out try giving the Acan some reefroids mixed into a paste right on the mouth... they'll probably bounce back. My scans get MAD when I dip them and pout for a while.

That’s a great idea thank you for the help man. I’ll update this thread when any major changes happen.

Any update? I just did a dip on a hammer with coral rx for about 2 minutes and it's looking pretty bad. Exceptionally worse than what it started with (some receding on the band.)

Yep I think you used way to much rx . I use 1 ltr and if I remember correctly only use about 10ml of Rx fir 15mins . Hope they pull through. Keep us updated

Thank you!! I absolutely suck at conversions and can never figure out the correct dose per cup instead of per gallon. I definitely used too much. Thanks again!
Always hang on to old syringes From test kits for measuring medications, additives and dip. Easy measurement for 16 oz is a solo cup or bottled water bottle. ;)
