Hello reefers - I’m planning to clip these two hammer heads off but wondered if anyone had additional suggestions. Only seems to be affecting this branch at the moment. No signs of brown jelly.

Questions of the day would be any near by corals warfare going on? Typical pest in the tank like peppermint shrimp, Crabs, worm....etc.

Do they get shaded in that spot?

I'm running out water parameter issues as it looks like near by corals are okay.

Pests, shading, damage coral warfare.... Are typically the issues like this.

Frag them off and relocate them in a shaded area to see if they will recover.

I’m leaning toward damage due to it falling recently but I also have a lobo that’s exposing skeleton at the same time. The gorgonian tips would brush it at times so perhaps it irritated the hammer. There is other warfare happening between a rose anemone and toadstool leather - wonder if those toxins could affect the hammer and lobo. Shading has not been an issue but I’m wondering if it could’ve been burned by reef roid direct feeding. Thanks for the reply. - I’ll try your suggestion and keep them in the tank for now.
