I started a 16g nano in my 5th grade classroom this year and things have been going well despite being away from tank for longer periods of time than I would like due to seasonal breaks, holidays and weekends.

I've never kept euphyllia before, but local reef club members generously donated some. Again, coral have been doing very well, but recently, both hammer skeletons seem to be deteriorating but heads still look healthy although what new heads were forming seem to have disappeared.

About a month ago, I did add a cleaner shrimp and an emerald crab. I also have about 5 hermits, some small cerith and nassarius snails and my 2 clownfish.

I've attached a few pics of the hammers and some photos of other coral which you can see are healthy and happy.

The are parameters I have been able to test...need to purchase test kits for others.
pH 8.0
Salinity 1.024
Temp 76.8
Ca?
Alk?
Mg?

I am going to go with low calcium. Can you please post your calcium and alkalinity levels? Might as well do magnesium while you're at it!

I knew without parameters, especially the big 3, I might not get possible causes. I figured I'd try and see if someone has dealt with this before until I could get test kits..

I did pick up kits today but lfs was out of Mg.

Ca-. 400
Alk 5.7 dKh (Assuming this is my issue)
