My hammer coral that has been thriving is now starting to show tissue recession just like another hammer i had that slowly died from this issue because i cannot figure it out..... Literally the tissue starts to slowly die from the bottom very slowly all the way up to the top, showing more skeleton of the coral and less flesh intill its dead within a few months. This does not seem to affect my other euphyilla like my frogspawn (as of yet). I do have some veremetid snails in my tank but they don't seem to bother the coral. Does anyone know whats going on here?

Tank volume: 40g
Alk 8.4 dkh
Cal 435 ppm
Mag 1480 ppm
Phosphate 9 ppb 0.028 ppm
Nitrate 0 ppm

Could it be from my alkalinity swing of 0.6 dkh per day? I am currently manually dosing 20ml of BRS 2 part Alk/Cal, but i do have a Doser coming in the mail in a few days. Could it be lack of food/starvation due to the 0 nitrates? I dont attempt to feed my corals much anymore because the food will get stolen by my pesky clownfish or my fire shrimp.

First thing that stands out to me:

Zeroed out nitrates.

You can feed Red Sea "Reef Energy" and broadcast feed Reef Roids

FWIW:
LRS "Reef Frenzy" is my #1, reef's food source.

Would something like AcroPower or Aquavitro Fuel work as well? I was looking at those amino supplements and the reef roids. Considering this is a LPS dominant tank. I do feed the tank Reef Frenzy as well

Agreed. Other than supplemental feedings of Seaweed/Nori it's pretty much all I feed my tank. You can see a visible difference in the clarity of the water between it and even other frozen foods.

Red Sea "Reef Energy" contains amino's too.

Many ways to skin a cat... :)

Alright probably going to pick up some of that Reef Energy. Now, how do i go about dosing this? Is this just something you pour into the tank into high flow? Spot feed it? How often should i be dosing that? Daily, weekly? Also going to pickup some reef roids and broadcast feed that also. Hoping both of those things will increase my nitrate to detectable levels.

This tissue recession only seems to be affecting my hammer corals... Nothing else is having tissue recession just my hammers. My Frogspawn, Acan, and Bubble Coral are all thriving with no tissue recession. The amino acids from Red sea and the reef roids will be here in a few days. Could it be something bacterial that only affects hammers?
