Ok sorry my mistake I tested again against the salifert and they both tested the same so the mistake was on the salifert test kit.

Not in the past 3 weeks. Mostly because my readings have been between 8.4 and 8.6 all month long.

Anyone else notice any particles in the new reagents? I know for sure this new bottle has had a few things floating in the vial after I added the reagent, which causes a slightly higher reading.

I just tossed that butyl away and the new one did not have anything. But the other bottle was abut halfway empty.

well the idea of this checker is light, correct? so any particles or bubbles tend to mess with the accuracy. The particles I noticed were not small little things, they were slivers of white stuff.. I just dumped it out and grabbed a new bottle.
