Hanna phosphorus test phosphates high?

50 X 3.066 / 1,000 = .15 of PO4

So that is at the high end of my own range but plenty of successful reefers run similar.

That said, your NO3 should be 15-20 if you run PO4 that high. Relative to phosphates you are nitrate limited. If you dose NO3, it will bring your phosphates down. Works every time. You do need some nitrate in there.

Of course you can choose to lower phosphates in any number of ways but BE CAREFUL. Your biome is accustomed to .15 by now and quick or significant shifts make bad things happen.

thank you guys for all the information I did a 20% water change I shook all the rock in my sump and vacuumed up all the detritus well see what happens.
