Coming back after a long time away was harder than I expected it to be, but the tank has officially been setup a year now, and we've survived (so to speak) algae blooms and bullying and disease, figured out proper parameters and dosing, feeding and lighting schedules... and learned a TON in the process, mostly thanks to this site.

Here it was a year ago after turning on all the pumps...

Congrats. Yes...21st century reefing is way different. Remember wet/ dry filters and standard florescent tubes?
OMG yes. I had an under gravel filter on my first FOWLR, then graduated to a sump with a noisy trickle filter. Changing from T10 to T5 was an amazing moment before LEDs hit the scene (and were insanely expensive).
