I've always wondered that. Some rainbow seem so diverse as frags, but grow out and look meh.
Not mine. They’re getting better and better. Reefraftusa acros were very disappointing. I don’t know what they do after the cut them but every one of them I purchased was delivered brown and stayed that way for months. My reefing skills weren’t not as good as they are now which didn’t help, but they were brown out of the bag or rtn’d the next day. I’ve never been disappointed by anything from top shelf aquatics or fraghouse corals. They always look just like they’re pictures.

If they are the pieces you see on FB auctions they aren’t even close even with all blue LED and a filter that has become the norm these days.

I bought frags from all of these and about 13 more- not even close but I know they will be nice just never what you’ll see in these.

It’s not the all blue nor the combo of the filter, I can say even with as little of photography editing I do have, these are not WYSIWYG
But I knew that going into it I feel bad for all those that don’t know and get taken for huge dollars

Sorry if I’ve derailed the thread a bit

Bummer. Care to name seller so I can stay away? I would have fell for the pics for sure.

It was more on the Facebook auction page for Vivid. I’ve been to the website and saw a frag I got that actually looked fairly close to what I received.....close mind you

I can say is a blanket statement if you ever see a picture of a coral that looks like that, all electric and popping you’ll never be getting a piece that looks that way

Unequivocally 100% guaranteed

I was thinking of buying from battle coral. I’ve read up on him, and have not read anything bad. Anyone have experience with Adam?

Many dealing with Adam, all positive and his pics spot on 100 percent no smurf vision there

Great to hear!! I’m going to be placing an order from him on the near future
I have one coming tomorrow! My third Battlebox. Getting a Battlebox is better than Christmas. I don’t think you can go wrong with BC.

Second person I have seen (who I trust) say this but what is weird is that there is multiple people out there who claim they have been to the shop and they say it is amazing there

Let’s just say for arguments sake vivids rainbow delight is the worst frag ever brown as they come no matter who it is from but once it is settled in its an amazing coral may be all of there corals are that way

I don’t know but someone I trust has said the same thing as u they are horrible
Yep my Rainbow Delight is all brown in my tank under MH. The colony it was fragged off looked nice under the AI 52s, local member so I got to see everything and got fresh frags off the colonies.
So of coarse right now Im disappointed in the Rainbow Delight. Another one right now is a pink milli that browned and has not colored back up even though its growing fast. Pretty much every disappoint I have with a coral is due to color isssues other than a death. I seem to be good at making coral turn brown and grow well.
Current water test if anyone cares
Temp 77-79
Ph 7.8-8.0
Salinity 1.025
Alk 8.0 dkh stays at 7.8-8.0 dosing 2 part
Cal 415 ppm
Mag 1380 ppm
No3 0.0 but I know there is some in there because I dose a little, my chaeto grows well and I need to clean my glass every 2 days

I buy corals in person, usually after looking at a bunch of pics of said coral.

I don't mind blue pics, I prefer it since I run heavy blues, but I hate when they're altered with filters and/or shopped.

Knock on wood. I have gotten pretty good at coloring up brown or bleached sps. More rewarding that way :)

The rainbow delight just doesn’t like being fragged give it a year of steady water and it will show you something

Can not grow wrong with Battle Corals. Purchased two battle boxes. Both I received good sized frags that individually priced were more than twice what I paid for the box.

Battlecorals is very good. Rocky Mountain Frags has been good too. You can get some great stuff from some reefers that will underpromise and over deliver - Ed, Copps (only on RC), Therman are a few that always appear to be stand up, but there are many more that I apologize for not mentioning. IMO, Copps is the best seller in the USA. ORA is typically good at selling real-deal corals and their photos are usually the worst around.

I have not been disappointed in a while because I usually can tell the BS from the real-deal. This took some time and there were times in the past when I was disappointed. If you have questions, then post it up... I will let you know what I think without pulling any punches, and I don't care about all of the upset PMs that I get because of it.

I have a question - who would win in a fight, a ninja or a bear?
