How bad is it if my temperature goes 80 at night to 82 in the day ,do to my lights

not bad but not great - Ideally i think you wanna be around 78 degrees. can you provide more details about your setup so we can help pinpoint the problem and possible solutions?

Add a fan to the sump area to blow over the water. They sell some clip on fans with two settings on Walmart

2 degree bump is fine. Probably better for most things to be 76 up to 78, or so. You can kill lots of inverts once you get over 80, or they stop eating as much algae and stuff - turbos, margaritas, trochus, etc.

Open top tanks and turning a fan on with your lights can keep that 2 degree bump from ever happening.

Even a natural ocean reef swings 1-2 degrees between day and night. No worries.

However I would lower the temp on the heater to keep it under 80. In my funny mind, 80 is an orange zone, 82 is a red zone
