Heater controller

Hey all. I have an INKBIRD itc-312 controller and it worked great for about six weeks. A week ago I changed the settings and now it is very erratic. INKBIRD customer service is horrendous. Does anybody have experience with this controller? What do you use to control your heater?

It looks like your controller is operating correctly. It turns on and off at the correct temperatures. But your heater may not be operating correctly. The continued heating after the controller turns off suggests that the heater is oversized for your tank and the residual thermal mass is enough to continue raising the temperature a few tenths of a degree. But you also have temp drops after the controller turns on, which suggests that maybe your heater is operating intermittently? I'd try plugging a different heater into your controller.

Sorry. I guess I should have said that I did try another heater and the same thing has happened. My heater is in my canister filter which is rated for a 27 gallon tank and I have a 36 gallon.

In that case it sounds like your canister filter may not have enough flow to maintain consistent heating. What happens if you put the heater in the display tank?

Same thing. I tried with a different heater. A submersible that I use to make my saltwater. But I get high and low alarms. I’m trying to figure out if I can reset the controller somehow but I can’t seem to get a proper response from INKBIRD.

It was working fine. All I did was change on/off and high/low alarms by -0.2 degrees.
