So I had blue legs in my old tank because it was fowlr. I made the great decision to throw them back in this tank. Maybe 10 of them. Uh yah added 20 bucks worth of cortez crabs and snails yesterday guess who's all wearing new shells! Stupid blue legs I'm hunting these suckas tonight there all going in the refugium lol.

Tank is looking good! Good call on not going with the old school sump from the 80's/90's. There are a lot better ways to run them these days. Good call on resealing the tank also. I had to do that with my 75g sump. You are also getting pretty good spread on the 5' tank with that Lumentek. I don't mind some lighter areas as that it's where I keep my acans and maze brain coral.

I think I saw you mention something about a bubble trap also. I think it mostly depends on your skimmer. I run cone skimmers and I don't have any micro bubbles in my DT even without a bubble trap. Sometimes a bubble trap is just a waste of valuable sump space.

Ammonia is almost gone. I've been feeding it small amounts of food daily. Trites and trates are still high. Might do a wc tomorrow.

Yeah, I'm worried about the cycle for the 180. My fish are too big to go into another tank that I have all together. So they'll be living in a trash can. The corals will mainly be in my frag tank so Im affraid of metal halide shock since tgey are used to t5/led lightning. It's going to be very stressful! I think you're right to have Your Reef hold onto your corals :)

I don't think it will be long. I've used 2 bottles of Dr tims now. My ammonia definitely has already spiked was at 3 ppm for a day. Now it's under .25. Trites are not very high either. Trates are up there though. 30+ lol.

Your fishies will be just fine in a tub or can. Specially with a bit of lr to keep things cycling.

Yeah, I hope so. The pbt is going to be the problem child... he always is. I think I'm going to make my new DIY rock go live before set up. That may also help shorten the cycle.

Your tank looks terrific, can't wait to see it come to life :D Excellent job!

Yah. I'm getting antsy I sat through the whole cherry corals live auction. Lol. So I put some low bids in on the Your Reef ebay auctions. won a couple things than had to make it worth the shipping cost so I bid up a few more things. Idk. Either way I didn't spend alot. I'll learn what I'm doing with these pieces either way.

Not sure why this thing is just stuck in this part of the cycle. It's been testing all the same #'s for like 5 days. .25 ammonia high trites and trates. Wait it out? Or do wc?

Yeah I've been there before. I did a 20% wc and then added the large bottle of api stress zyme. It was the 1 thing that brought it out of it. Some people say not to do that but it did work for me. Most say to wait it out, but I waited and waited until I couldn't anymore. The trash cans only hold your livestock so long.
