It got to this point fast. Just seems like it's stuck with high trites and trates. Maybe if I get them down a bit it will get back to work cycling. Idk. Lol

Yah I was doing some reading and it says on the Dr tims Web site that if nitrite gets to high it will actually stall the process and to water change at that point. To get bacteria working again.

How long did it say, if it did, the cycle should take approximately?

If it goes correctly it should be a 1 week cycle. If you go fish less cycle. I would use there ammonia source instead of what I did. I think I ended up with to big of a ammonia spike than the stuff did it's job too well and produced a excessive amount of nitrite which has everything trippin! Lol

I seen my ammonia drop overnight so it went to work fast.

Interesting. I've heard for Dr Tims but that's about as far as it goes. So they sell it direct?

Yes and ask for the ammonia I think they send it with for free. There's 5 billion you tube videos of ridiculous people saying it worked for them great.

Thanks, I've been checking into it the past few minutes :) I think I'm going to give it a shot. Some people who were upgrading and using existing water and some existing live rock said it cycled the same day on large systems. Just what I need!

Yah I think I've just prolonged my cycle by messing around with my ammonia source. My lfs has the Dr tims but didn't have the ammonia. So ..... I did the add clams deal to get my ammonia up.

Need to figure out where my water is as far as for adding corals maybe dose some iodine before my Z's n P's get here. Also need to figure out what I should do when they arrive for prep before I throw them in the tank. Acclimation process / dip and whatever else. Being this is my first attempt I'm a but worried. Lol.

Changed 10 gallons of water and my ammonia dropped too 0 in a matter of 4 hours. Trites and trates are still up but I think I'm on the right track now. I'll change 15 or 20 tomorrow and add a fish.

I scored a trade deal on a bigger return pump with a guy today. My 700 gph for a 900 gph. Even up just cause he downgraded tanks and needed less power. I also officially am selling sumps. Lol. Now I need to find time to build them. Only custom stuff local and large ones.
