Welcome to R2R!!! Peroxide is usually used as a dip for frags with algae problems. I have heard of people using up to a 50/50 mix

I've not had good experience dipping corals with peroxide. I think Bayer is a better/safer DIY dip. Or stick with one of the commercial brands like CoralRx.

Peroxide can be safely used as a dip depending on what you are dipping for.
SPS coral are a little more sensitive to this.
This works great on algaes and a wide range of pests.

Welcome to R2R. I agree.....Bayer is the way to go. I use 1ml of Bayer for every 100 mls of tank water and leave it for 15 minutes before rinsing well with tank water. I think the bottle I purchased from HD was around $12 and will last me forever.




I think the label on the product is now white....where you see the black....but still the same stuff.

I've plucked off bubble algae and dipped with CoralRx. It's worked every time. Is the red cyano?

That you should be able to just blast/siphon off the coral. But it will just keep coming back until you've fixed the cause i.e. elevated nutrients/nitrates/phosphates, old bulbs, using something other than 0 TDS RODI.

Welcome! I hope you gain as much by being a member as I have. I never in the world would've thought Bayer would be used for coral reef tanks!! Tons of info here :)

From my experience on bubble algae it's as easy as removing them without getting erupted in tank is the easiest or emerald crabs will take care of them. As far as cyano bacteria it has to do with temperature change or flactuation. It always comes in tanks more so as seasons change. Keep an eye on temp, if your temp is steady then check your nutrients and cut the light hours and it will go away by itself.obiusosly by sucking out what you can it will help get rid faster .
