Hello everyone, can anyone help me with a problem regarding this fish. It's an Odonus Niger, the fish has been in quarantine in about 70L of water for around a month now. It was there together with an Acanthurus Convict, unfortunately he didn't survive. From the very start I knew I had a problem with Flukes, I did a freshwater DIP and confirmed it was Flukes. I did 3 treatment sessions with Api General Cure, after that also 3 sessions with Esha Gdex. The fish is still alive, eating frozen food Mysis and Artemia completely normally, but there is a problem with the fish, it has some white pimple like bumps on its head below the mouth, and there is also something dusty on its body, the body doesn't look clean. I suspect it might be Velvet, but I doubt it because it would have died by now, and the fish is eating great, even dry granulated food. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you all 😊

I see ich spots and some marks possibly from scratching. Suggested is to treat this fish and any others in with it in a separate tank with coppersafe at 2.25ppm monitored with a Hanna brand copper test kit for 30 days and monitor ammonia levels with a reliable test kit

I was also thinking whether it might be ICH, but somehow it doesn't look like it to me. I've had experience with Ictio before so I know roughly what it looks like, especially since the fish has been like this for about 7 days already and doesn't have the classic Ich white spots all over its body, and in 7 days Ich should have already progressed much further by now. I don't know, I'm really not sure. But in any case, I of course have all the necessary equipment needed for treating the fish with copper.

You also have some Bacterial issue going on that probably needs something stronger than General Cure.
Do you have Seachem Metroplex or Neoplex? I would also do a water change.

Do not use Metroplex unless absolutely necessary and GC does not have enough metro for proper treatment. I recommend coppersafe to be safe

Have you tried a diagnostic FW dip since the General Cure treatment? Neobenedenia flukes are very difficult to eradicate, and it may be suffering from a relapse, plus possible secondary bacterial infection from that.

Yes, I tried it, there were no white flakes falling off the fish like the first time. Some small white bits did fall off, maybe two or three pieces, but it seemed to me like it was just the white stuff it normally has on its body, it didn't look like Flukes to me like it did the first time when I did the FW dip. And it seems to me that this could be a bacterial infection, which tends to occur after Flukes. I just don't know what the best treatment to try would be for such a bacterial infection.

For secondary bacterial infections, you would need to treat it with a broad spectrum, gram negative antibiotic in a hospital tank. Neoplex of Kanaplex would be two possible choices.

Yes, I also think it's some kind of bacterial infection, I'll see if I can get those medicines and try to save her, thanks a lot for the advice in any case
