I am Nick, from The Netherlands! I have always loved aqua life. My parents always had tanks, mostly tropical fresh water fish. And not the best knowledge, but as a kid I simply loved it! I loved to fish and be next to water. Loved catching salamanders and other aqua life.

I have a bit of experience with fresh water, mostly shrimp/danios/rasboras and some cichlids.

I was always quite afraid of starting a salt water tank, the technical aspect put me off and it felt like I could do way to much harm in a short period of time. But I always kept informed and update with YouTube/Instagram or whatever.

Last month I bit the bullet and went for it! I bought a second hand Juwel Lido 200 which is 53 gallons.

I have used live sand and mostly dry rock. Last week I got a free live rock with 3 discosoma (I am not completely certain see picture, not sure about the middle one?) . And a piece of GSP. My parameters are quite stable, and I did setup a QT tank today. I will have it running for a bit and I am not in a hurry deciding for a fish. (But ofcourse I am really excited)

Technical wise I got it quite low tech, as a bit of an experiment as well. I know the Mikeymikemike guy on youtube and would love to do the same.

I am running a Biomaster thermo, with a mechanical pre filter. The layers from top to bottom are dry rock frags > seachem matrix > floss and ceramic rings > phosguard. (My phosphate is a bit to high thats why.)

I am not certain yet about the fish and corals which I do want. I do know for now that I love softies and LPS the most. I do really have a soft spot for nems. The tank BRS made with the harem seemed amazing! I know that I will be going for a themed tank. I really am into the Ricordea and Rhodactis species. As well as the Euphyllia genus.

I am really looking forward to meet you all!

Any advise is certainly welcome and appreciated. Excuse me for my English as it is not my first language. CC9367CC-ED1E-427E-8585-BCE62831EB6D.jpeg 7A76F48D-1446-466F-BF5B-4F8AB23A1677.png
