Welcome to the forum! How big will the new tank be?

Thanks for the welcome!

The new tank will be a room divider between an open and bright family room, and a dark and brooding library. It will be somewhere between eight to ten feet long, four to five feet (front to back) and 28 inches tall (800 gallons give or take). It will be set a little lower than usual to allow more of a top down view of the corals, and aquascaped in a way to make it hard to see through to the other room. I am going to try to time things so that I can move the livestock and corals over, while still salvaging about half the equipment. And, it will be easier to maintain than my current 300. Also, I am giving my wife and our decorator control of the placement of the tank, it's size, and the woodwork surrounding it - they can do a much better job making sure it is integrated into the house.

This is the current tank - in "autopilot" mode for many months. I have been tearing out live rock and ripping down overgrown coral colonies. This tank is 28 inches front to back and many of the colonies reach from the front to the back. Also, I have given up on the coraline, and look forward to converting from acrylic to glass with improved access doors, to allow better scraping. I have not purchased any new livestock in a few years. That yellow tang, I have had for ten years now.
