Welcome from Monmouth County! I’d suggest trying to pick up a used T5 fixture by ATI. You can get all the parts from ATI and it won’t break the bank at all. Just new bulbs every 12 or so months.
This is probably the best advice, especially if you want a light that will work for both fresh and salt.
most LEDS, won’t be the right spectrum for one or the other, whereas with the T5 you can useuse freshwater 3000, 6500 or 10k bulbs And then switch to some blue + bulbs and others for the corals when you go salt

With the t-5 , I e been reading I’ll still need additional lighting. Thought on that?

Not at all.
there are many many successful reefs that are run only by T5.
in fact a lot of people with LEDS tend to supplement their LEDS with T5 because they are a much more uniform blanket of light

I'd get some black boxes, cheap and provide decent light. Orig from camden county here, whats the lfs like around there now? I use to goto the one on blackwood clementon rd, think they closed the one i went to because of mold. And the orig hidden reef in pa from time 2 time.
