Hello reefing community,

I've been reading through countless posts and thought I should say hello and share my comeback to the reefing hobby.

About 12 years ago I had a 36G bowfront mixed reef with good success for a few years. I had to dismantle it and circumstances were such that I was not in a position to have a tank until now. I am super excited to get back into it.

I'm currently in the cycling process of a 29 gallon. No sump, no skimmer, no RODI...no problem....right!!?! It may not be the perfect set up but it's something to get me started and learn what's new in the hobby. I decided to make my own stand with a 2x4 frame and plywood base/sides/top. In the process of adding a front to the stand with doors as well as a canopy.

I also have a 10 gallon QT tank set up, something I did not do with my last tank but thought it was the right thing to do going forward. I look forward to posting more and have some questions that I'm sure the reefing community can help with!

Welcome to R2R and back to reefing. Great looking stand you have built. All looking good so far. Lots of knowledgable and helpful people here who will support and advise you when needed.

Thanks for all the encouragement and kind welcomes to the reefing community. It’s a good think you can’t look too closely to see all the mistakes in the stand build. I think I’ve hidden them well:). Perhaps I’ll post on the DIY thread with some updated pictures soon. Maybe the DIY’ers can help me figure out the mistakes I made!
