My 55 gallon reef is going really good. I am now thinking about a nano reef. See many members doing them. Was looking at the Waterbox 20. Confused about the skimmer, do I want one or can I do without?

Welcome to R2R!! As @reef lover stated, it is not necessary to run a skimmer but it does help maintain nutrient levels. I run a mini refugium in my 16 gallon Biocube, and occasionally I add a bag of carbon and zeolite to the mix if I am getting too much algae film algae in my glass. But I do not have a skimmer setup. And judging by how my euphyllias still refuse to grow new heads, my nutrient levels are super low (which tests always seem to back up).

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
