I was hoping someone could tell me what I’ve got. I acquired this 180 gallon reef tank and have pretty much decided to go fresh water to save money and time. Is this live coral worth anything? Should I try to sell it or just beg someone to take it or throw it away. I don’t have the heart to let it die but don’t even know what I have to list it. Appreciate any ones advice- also will have to give the fish away I suppose:(

#WelcometoR2R and thank you for your desire to take care of the coral. I’m sure others will chime in soon with recommendations - good luck!

The fish in the tank looks like a powder brown surgeonfish and the other looks like a possible Atlantic blue tang the coral are a mix of soft coral and what looks like lettuce coral and a bad case of red slim algae all I can suggest is if you don't have the means for a water change i.e. reef salt to do a water change then bag the fish up and take them to your lfs and as for the rock with the small pieces of coral on put them in a bucket with some water from the tank and phone round your lfs and ask if they would be interested in the tank contents.
Hope this was helpful ps the fish look in good condition.

You have acquired a mess. The fish have value though and appear to be healthy.

Beautiful fish, please don’t let them die. Give them to someone who will take care of them.
