Help....anemone troubles

My Black Widow got sucked into the pump strainer at the bottom of tube. It wasnt hacked up but its looking rough after i panickingly unpluged it and loosened tge strainer and shook it out. Whats the process if anyone knows from here on out....? Thanks in advance.

Best bet IMO is to get it in moderate flow, protected it with a strawberry basket, and hope that it starts to heal... Something along these lines.

I would target feed it mysis and/or benereef 2-3x a week as well.

You'll definitely to put it in something to prevent it from floating around. A strawberry basket may have holes that are too big -- it depends on the size of your BTA. Another good option is a pond basket that are sold at places like Home Depot:

That's assuming your tank is large enough to have something like this float inside.

I've actually shredded quite a few BTAs, and they all made it. I had a CSB that completely chopped off its tentacles. After a couple of months it was as if nothing happened.

I’m sorry to hear about your anemone but if the damage is minor, it should recover quickly with good water quality.
As said, it should be placed in some type of basket….personally when I’m in a pinch I use black plastic canvas sheets from Hobby Lobby with small zip ties and create my own for a couple dollars.

Using scissors, just cut four sides and a bottom…using small zip ties to attach each panel to the next to create a box.

Then use a chip clip or mag floats to hold against the glass walls of your tank…

That's a great idea. I like that you can create custom sizes. I use this stuff to line my anemone boxes because it's easier to remove the anemone from this material. I never thought of just making the box with it!
