I ordered a fighting conch and it finally came in today, but the bag leaked all over the box and came in dry.

I immediately put the little guy in my tank water, but I'm nervous it won't make it.
I was told it has to be drip acclimated before I can put it into the tank, but since it was dry I had to put it into my water.

Do you guys think he's gonna make it? :(

That depends on how long it was out of water. Was it moving?

It did move but not very much. It mainly just stayed in its shell. Wouldn't the sudden change in salinity stress it out though (with whatever water was left in the shell)?

Most companies offer doa/ dead on arrival guarantee, if you provide photos from delivery in box/ out of box/ in water accumulation process within first couple of hours of delivery...

That would be the least of my concerns. I buy lots of stuff from ReefCleaners.com and he sends them in a bag with damp paper towels and very little water. His instructions are to float to them acclimate and then put them in tank. I’ve never had a problem

Yeah that's the first thing I did. It didn't smell *too* bad, but not great either

The 1st thing you did was smell it or throw it in your aquarium lol

Generally they are shipped in little to no water and you want to warm them to tank temperature and gradually add tank water for over period of an hour
In the wild, they are often found on rock in low water areas outside of the ocean then covered by high tide

I did take some pictures before I opened the bag, but it technically isn't dead, just very lethargic. I'm just worried that it won't make it

That's a relief to hear! The problem is that I didn't know that I had the chance to temp acclimate.. I just put him straight into the tank because I thought it was going to dry out

Who did you buy it from? If reefcleaners... just send them an email and keep them in the loop. They are awesome to work with.
No, I got it from saltwaterfish.com. They do have a DOA time frame, but it ends after 5 hours. Hopefully he'll be okay even after the 5 hours are up

What do you mean ?
Your shipment arrives, you have a bag empty of water, you look inside and see your snail/possibly suffocating/ drying out?? You take it out the bag.... You smell it!! Then throw into aquarium...

You did what I would have done. Contact them, with pics, let them know if it dies or not. Should be moving by now.

Okay, calm down man. I just did a quick sniff when I opened the bag. I'm not going to just leave it out of water either.
