There was one time I left a light on almost all day by mistake and it opened and closed a hand for a certain time that the light is on and it does it or is the light too weak?

Xenia can and will stop pulsing if the lighting is too strong, or the photoperiod is to long. I would think that in time, it will be back to normal

Xenia is light sensitive and will respond to bright and dark. A timer will place your tank on a regular schedule and prevent 24hr light oversight in the future.
