These are my current tank parameters can anyone explain to me how my mag got so high? I use Red Sea coral pro salt , my coral are colored up nicely however, growth seems to be slow, but that may be due to my pH only getting to 8 at peak . So any suggestions of how to get my mag lower and my pH higher?

Also, I don’t currently dose anything I only run kalkwasser in my ATO and replace major elements with water changes once a week

If you're not dosing Mag, there's no way it should be that high compared to your Alk and Calc (assuming those are accurate). The simple answer is that the testing for Mag is in error. Magnesium testing using home kits is known to be problematic, I'm not sure how accurate that Apex is for Mag, but I suspect it's either not accurate or out of calibration here.

Here's a post on why many of use don't bother to test for Magnesium; there's a better way to manage it:

@Randy Holmes-Farley may have greater insight, if he sees this and has a minute to reply 🙂

Good luck!

I dont think your mag is an issue.
Your alk is super low.
You may need to use two parts to balance it out.

I agree that two-part dosing might be the best thing to do for your tank
