I'm tired of my skimmer overflowing and am looking to add a float switch to my 110 volts A/C reef octopus Skimmer. I don't want to invest in a apex controller at this time. Is there a way to do this?

I have tried the Smart Skimmer Security from BRS, it didn't work. I found a coral value float switch wondering if anyone has tried this one?

I'm open to any DIY options also
