Hi All,

We found this very odd looking worm today. It has what look like antennae and is crawling around the rocks. Is this a good thing or is it bad?

Nudibranch. My general rule of thumb for hitchhikers is...If u can't I.d. it or it could b bad. Prob is or better safe than sry.
Look for spirals of eggs.

Oh man. Eggs? Our anemone was on that rock in that spot for a long time and seemed happy but yesterday decided to move to the back of the rocks. I wonder if this critter was irritating it's foot? It came out from the same hole the anemone foot was in.

I've removed this one but wondering if there are more in the tank.

Here's a better photo since we removed it.

Any more advice or info welcome. For now this one at least is out of the display tank.

Thanks for the help.

that is a phestilla sp and yes that is a corallivorous nudibranch so it is a very good chance that is was munching on your anemone foot and caused him to move

Ugh. Is there any way to prevent more? He's out of the tank but now I'm concerned about babies.

Thanks for confirming the id.

they lay eggs generally in a spiral fashion just keep a eye out chances of a big population happening is slim in the typical aquarium
