Hi,
This regal angel is finishing his QT today, planned to move to DT tomorrow.
I noticed this white cyst today and wondering if it's something suspicious. The fish is very strong, eating well, not scratching and not showing any suspicious behavior.

Should I be worried about this cyst?

Thanks

At first I thought it might be Lymphocystis, this species is prone to that. In looking at the video though, the spot is right at one of the lateral line pores. My guess is that this is mucus exuding from the pore.

What was your treatment protocol for the quarantine?

@Jay Hemdal, I did 21 days copper at 2.25. Previous owner had it in QT and treated with prazi/metro but not sure of the protocol. I didn't do anything other than copper.

Is mucus excluding from the pore something I should treat? should it prevent its move to the DT?

Thanks

I can't say what is producing the mucus, it is often stress related. It is unlikely to be related to a protozoan disease or flukes, and those are the two things you really want to avoid moving into your display. Here is an article I wrote on fish mucus:
