I am curious about these 3 growths on my live rock. They’ve been in the tank about a month with not a lot of change to them. I am very new to this and want to be diligent as I am just learning about the pest aiptasia…
Hello! It’s hard to tell from this angle but I’m pretty sure the one I circled is actually a type of feather duster (good hitch hiker) the other ones you showed are definitely aiptasia (I actually have that purple variation in my tank unfortunately).
I wouldn’t freak out quite yet, it’s definitely better to be proactive and avoid having these pest in the first place (dipping corals before adding is definitely a good place to start) but it’s not the end of the world (at least not yet hahah). Idk if the rock they are on is small enough to be pulled out but if it is I would quickly take it out and scrape the aiptasia off. Did you buy live rock? If so it probably has other aiptasia on it, people have used products to get rid of them like aiptasia X and have even squirted lemon juice at them in order to kill them; others have added peppermint shrimp or berghia nudibranchs so that they could eat the aiptasia.
Cant tell what's on the left. The middle looks like an acan or blasto poly or something similar. The one on the right looks like a majano to me. Maybe aptasia. I'd definitely pull that one.
