Hey Aaron, can you take a picture with white light instead of the blues? It is hard to tell what you are concerned about.

At first glace, I didn't see anything on the rocks or sand I would be overly concerned with.

It would be helpful to know how long the tank has been up for and what your phosphate measurement is currently.

My main issue is every day when I come home from work my sand is brown and so is my glass.

And I’m going on back in 2 months and I wanna make sure this stuff isn’t gonna take over my tank.

I also dose 9mL of RedSea NO3:pO4-X

And I have no way of testing my Phosphate

This is normal for the age of the tank. Like what @sundog101 said, I wouldn't do anything as a reaction to the diatoms. They'll go away on their own.

For the record, I would not dose NO3 without knowing what my PO4 is. Unless you only plan on growing softies.

Only Softies and LPS. I read an article about sponges helping taking some of there nutrients away. And one know anything about this?

I wouldn't expect there to be a significant nutrient drop in our aquariums from sponges.

Ack....carbon dosing in a new tank. Stop ASAP....yesterday, if possible. ;)

Double ACK! Don't go messing with nutrients if you can't even test for them.

#reefsquad don't we have a startup guide that mentions the phases of a new tank and what to expect?

Thought I'd seen it posted but can't find it right now...

Th article isn't hyperlinked so I can't take you to the section directly, but check out the linked article above starting with the end of Section 4 and (mostly) Section 5.
