Long story short, either my flame hawkfish or chalk bass are beating up my McCoskers wrasse. I also re-homed a purple firefish who was beaten up one night. I moved the McCoskers to an acclimation box to keep him safe until he's alone.

I am taking the flame hawk and chalk bass to LFS in the morning.

What small, peaceful community fish would you put in a shallow 25 with a McCoskers Wrasse?

Some fish on my radar:
Black cap Gramma
Falcos hawkfish
Pavo damsel
Gobies

Fish way off the radar:
Clowns
Twitchy butt heads

I have to... I don't wanna. I love me some Ethan. But I suspect he is violent.

Can I mix wrasses like that?
Shouldn't be a problem. Would introduce with acclimation box. The pink streak especially does not like aggressive tanks. Possums can be fiesty but mostly known to be timid. I'm waiting on a pink streak, and they aren't the easiest to find right now (I'm specifically looking for a juvenile, so that makes it worse).

Definitely don’t get a falco hawk. Im surprised to hear the chalk bass has been aggressive. Usually they never both other fish, but I guess since it’s a small tank maybe?
As far as clowns. I feel like it depends. Some are the biggest jerks, and some never bother other fish (like mine lol).

recommendations:
-Tailspot blenny
-Possum wrasse (IF YOU SEE ONE, GET IT. They are the coolest)
-Geometric Pygmy hawkfish are great
-Neon or yellow line gobies are cool
-waspfish are really cool if you can find them (the fish have to be very tiny for them to be able to be eaten)
- dwarf scorpionfish (similar to waspfish but may be slightly more risky around small fish)

If anyone is still playing along. I have taken your recommendations and disregarded everything that didn't align with my world view. I'm kidding I used your recs to arrive at this list:

with the flame hawk and chalk bass gone,

Swissguard basslet
Pink streaked wrasse
citron goby because they are cool little fellows

and keep my McCosker's Wrasse

Does anyone see a conflict there?

I love twitchy butt heads!
A Yasha Goby pair would be awesome!
I agree with both of you 100%.

I've always
leaned towards more brash fearless fish. But this time around, I feel like I'd rather not host wrestle-mania in a 25 gallon lagoon. The fish that don't get murdered in cold blood jump to their peril.

I've eyed yasha gobies for a while and a pair would be nice. Although I have a massive candy cane pistol shrimp about 4 maybe 5 years old. He keeps running off potential gobies. Ive kinda been thinking about saving a space for a shrimp goby pair. After this pistol dies. He's 4 years old. He can't have that long left.

I went ahead and picked up another purple firefish today. I did trade in Ethan. will probably do the same with my chalk bass tomorrow morning. He's been harder to catch.
