For those that don't know me my aquarium is 125 gallons mixed reef with about 30 gallons in the sump that has been running for 2 years now. I'm trying to choose the last few fish to add to the tank. Here is the current stock list and some I am considering feel free to suggest others not on my list and please tell me any that for sure won't work with what I have.
Current stock:
2 Ocellaris Clowns
1 Springeri Damsel
1 Citron Clown Goby
1 Leopard Wrasse
1 Chocolate Tang
1 One Spot Foxface
1 Brazilian Royal Gamma
1 Serpent Starfish
1 Scotter Blenny
1 Red Firefish Goby
1 Coral Beauty Angel
1 Purple Tang
1 Cleaner Wrasse

Fish I am considering:
Purple Tile Fish - I have a glass lid that completely covers the tank
Chalk Bass
Ruby Red Dragonet
Flametail Blenny
Midas Blenny
Pearly Jawfish
Lyretail Anthias
Tailspot Blenny
Diamond Goby

I’d say yellow tang since they are so utilitarian, but I think the purple tang would be too aggressive?

From your list tho, a mandarin are such cool fish, from the way they move to how bright and cool their colors are. If you have a good copepod population I would throw one in. When you’re ever worried about their population, you can always supplement it with a quick order from algae barn. My mandarin is fat because of it.

I had a beautiful mandarin that I believe my fox face stung when it got startled going through a cave the mandarin was in. I could try one again as they are both fun to watch and beautiful. I have lots of pods and I also hatch brine shrimp which they will also eat.

One note from your list. An Anthias are beautiful mid to high level swimmers. The problem I’ve experienced with them over the last 26 years of reefing is they overall just don’t adapt to Aquarian confinement and restrictions. They are so cool but they don’t thrive in these closed environments very well. Some people have some success with them but overall I personally don’t think they make it well in aquariums. Their needs over all are too much for our tanks. But while they do make it they are a stunning and beautiful fish!

Thank you so much! I have read similar which is why I was very hesitant to add them to my list!

I’ll vote Pearly Jawfish, unlike most gobies that have homes in the sand they stay pretty visible hanging out near their home. Ruby Dragon or Mandarin are fun to watch. Here’s the Pearly I had from a couple years ago

I’d go with a pearly jawfish for their cool character and a tailspot blenny. Both have lots of personality.
