I have a 90g mixed reef with the current inhabitants:

- Ocellaris clownfish x2
- Engineer Goby
- Hifin Goby/Randalli shrimp goby pair
- Green Clown Goby
- Threadfin Cardinal x10
- Mandarin Dragonet
- Royal Gramma
- Springeri Damsel
- Tailspot Blenny

It may sound like a lot, but they're mostly smaller and more passive fish. I'm looking to add one (or maybe two) final fish and would like something active and colorful.

A few things I am considering:

- One spot foxface
- Kole or Tomini Tang
- Dwarf angel (although this scares me a bit)
- A pair of leopard wrasses (in conjunction with a plan to increase pod count for the mandarin). I currently have lots of limerick and pods, and a pod hotel in the sump, and am feeding phytofeast. Mandarin is currently very fat.

For whatever reason I'm not a big fan of the Bellus Anglefish, Fairy and Flasher Wrasses, and Firefish.

Any other suggestions for a centerpiece, somewhat active fish to go with this setup? I plan on not adding for another 2-3 months so I have a lot of time to think.

If you are looking to get just one centerpiece fish, I’d go with a foxface. Otherwise, I’d get 2 or 3 compatible wrasses. I know you said you aren’t a fan of fairy wrasses but they are so cool together in a tank. You could also do some leopards together.

Get a yellow tang! The captive bred ones start super small

If it’s my 90gal, I’ll get a juvenile Emperor Angel as a showpiece fish, knowing that he will grow big. More importantly, he will help convince my wife for an upgrade to 180gal. After that, I’ll get several big fish to outgrow the 180gal and get a 450gal… then, after that…ahem, sorry - you get the idea. ;)

I’d stay small and take a look at what takes your fancy wouldn’t go upsetting balance of your tank throwing a larger fish in certainly not a fox face
