Everytime is use Kalk mixed in my topoff, after about a month my Alkalinity goes above 13dDK and stays there and creeps higher until i stop using Kalk.
Ive tried small daily amts amountsof an 1/8th of a tablespoon on a total volume system of around 240gals...and just that small amt skyrockets dDK
I test using a calibrated Hanna Alk Checker, so i know the #s are right
I benefit from Calcium being resupplied but my Carbonates just hang around and make my water dangerously high on dDK
Ive quit using it and only dose pharmaceutical calcium chloride....
.....but would like to know why Kalk doesn't work for me. Is my tank a low carbonate tank barely needing any carbonates?
Corals: 90% zoa/palys, 5% random LPS, 5% random SPS
