Weird mushroom looking things. Theyve been growing in that spot for a while. Not sure if bad or good or neutral?

Picture under white light will help get a positive ID. But I agree it's an algae species.

I believe this is Scroll algae (Padina sp.). It is a rare brown macroalgae, requires good current and elevated calcium, and grows slowly. Great algae to keep, to my knowledge! How did you get it?
