I have an 8 gallon cube which I have been using a Koralia Hydor nano 240 powerhead on but the flow is just too strong for some of the corals and stuff in the tank. Does anyone have any recommendations for power heads that are less powerful but good quality.
Thanks, John

I personally like the vortech mp10's. They are very quiet and have various modes and speeds you can use.

Edit: Didnt see it was a HOB filter

Hydor makes a Pico size one to but it has pretty bad reviews

Its going to be hard to find a power head that will work for that size tank.

If you can get the koralia in the back corner and angle it up it might be ok, I know the cord makes it hard to angle certain directions.

Unless you are keeping sps, you might get away with upgrading the stock return pump and adding a spinstream

Yeah I have tried angling it but nothing seems to be working. I also have no stock return because I have a hob filter. However that provides some of the flow but not much:/ thanks for the feedback though, I appreciate it.

Get a OW-10 made by jeboa off amazon. It's their newest line and i just put one in my 34 gallon. it can go from 130-1000 gph (i think its around these numbers so don't quote me). It is seriously awesome. I paid around 48 bucks shipped.

I just put a Jebao sw2 into each of my biocubes, a 14 and 16. I am able to run them on random mode were it ramps up to full blast randomly. I'd think you could use this pump and turn it down. I have also used adjustable power supplies to lower the max flow on other Jebao powerheads and imagine you could do the same on this one. It's a nice size as well, little larger than golf ball size.
