actually that the color of the skeleton.. i got it on friday and it was full and puffy no exposed skeleton

Yes, you are right about it being the color of the skeleton. The scolly looks like it has a lot of hope but it is a bit starved. At this point it won't really open up its mouth unless the scolly is settled in so moving it around is just going to prevent it from eating.

since when does calcium carbonate come in purple ?

i'm theorizing that some how purple coralline started to grow inside the coral on the skeleton, resulting in tissue detachment.

i'm theorizing that some how purple coralline started to grow inside the coral on the skeleton, resulting in tissue detachment.

I have seen way too many scollys and their skeletons. It is not a coincidence that the markings on the skeleton is the same as the markings on the tissue.

The purple on the tips of the septa are purple whether they poke out of green or orange tissue, pretty random.....

Oh I agree. My mistake. I was looking at this on my phone earlier this today but on the bigger screen I can see the tissue lost on the first picture. Sorry ToXIc, it doesn't look good.

I know it looks really back now.

Starting getting brown jelly. So I've been taking out the bowl and putting a few drops of iodine.
