Does anyone have suggestions for getting my Dwarf Golden Moray to be less shy?

I've had it for about 5 weeks and rarely see it. When I do I try and get some food for it but by the time I get back it's hiding again.
Finally, last night I was able to feed it directly but haven't seen it since.

I'm going to put in a tube under the sand so maybe it will feel more comfortable going in there and poking it's head out once in a while.

Any tricks I should know about?

They will get more and more social. What are you doing feeding a silverside on a stick? Sometimes they don’t move around all that much. He also may be hanging out in parts of the tank you can’t see. Once you get into a routine with them they will come out and eat in same spot pretty much as soon as their food hits the water. I fed mine once a week. He lived 3.5 years and did well... A few times he would go a few weeks without eating... Cryptic behavior....

Hold the course and get him into a routine..,
