Appreciate any help! I am new to saltwater aquariums and clueless. My tank is 6 months old. It is fish only. I have been thinking that this brown growth is diatom since my tank is new. But, I’ve read that diatom goes away in about 3 months. It’s been in my tank for 6 months. Can someone help me confirm what it is and how to get rid of it? I’ve read about Dino’s that look similar. Attached photo is the brown stuff growing on my artificial coral. Cleaning crew crabs have had no impact and snails were eaten by the fish.

Turn up the flow. Get some cleaning crew. Algae will grow if there are no grazers
I have 5 red legged crabs. My fish eat the snails. Should I just get more of these same crabs or something different. Flow : I have two power jets. How many more do I need?

might also be some of the ornaments in the tank are leaching stuff into the water that you can't see
Can anyone tell me what the brown stuff is? Artificial coral came custom made from Ocean Aquaria - they produce for Sea World and other big name aquariums, so I feel sure it’s not caused by the coral.

What kind of fish are eating the snails? You need something that will stir the sand a bit.
