Ok so I’m in the market to upgrade my tank and I am thinking of buying a Red Sea max s-650. I have some questions to anyone who owns one before I pull the trigger on a 6k thank☺️. Thanks in advance.
1) do you like it and the equipment that it came with pumps skimmer ato etc etc
2) it comes with 4 AI primes I believe is this good enough for a full SPS tank.
3) i understand you have build it, was it easy was there anything special I would need to build it

Also, it comes with their new Red Sea skimmer, which has lots of positive reviews. When my Reef Octopus dies, I'm going to upgrade to the RSK. Also, the circulation pumps are really good and have adjustable nozzles. I have the Red Sea Max E-260 and love it.

Hi Mike, forgot to say, if you go on Youtube, Red Sea has videos showing how to assemble the stand and level it, (its aluminum and has leveling feet all under it), and other videos on it.

Hi Mike,
My LFS has several Red Sea tanks running and they have a S-650 going. Plus, owning a Red Sea myself, I can say the quality is there. They have added a 45 degree silicone strip to all the corners for extra strength and with the stand being aluminum you won't have to worry about any issues with it.
Mine as she sits cost me a total of $8000, which encompasses all the corals, fish, rock and extra equipment. I am very happy with my investment. And what is cool is the fact that my corals are now big enough where I am fragging and selling them. Plus, the anemone I purchased 2 years ago has split into7 so far not counting the 3 i have sold. I need to put another up on the marketplace, (California Rainbow).
So here is some eye candy for you to aspire to when yours is up and running.

I have a 4 year old system and if you want to know anything just ask.

They are quality systems, but as I’ve learned I’ve changed a few things for the better, especially the rear circulation pumps which are a pain to get out and clean.

If I was setting a new one up I would also make the rear down pipe valve redundant and add a gate valve inside the cabinet, it’s a ridiculous design that also means leaving the system 6 inches from the wall.

They are easy to build and as already said there are full videos available from Red Sea

Lots of pictures in build thread below
