Help with Coral identification

I bought this frag a few weeks ago from a LFS for like $10 but the employee didn't know what it was himself and told me I had to wait til the owner came back another day... i never went back. Can someone tell me what it is?

Looks interesting, have you got more pics under white light? At first id say maybe a mushroom, how does it feel to touch? Hard coral, soft coral?

Its definitely hard coral.... the only thing the guy told me was that he believed is within the monti cap family

Montipora is in the Family Acroporidae
Pavona is in the Family Agariciidae
But they do both have small polyps and are stony corals.
