Hello all,

First of all I am new here, and would like to introduce myself. My name is Todd and I am about to purchase live rock for my 36x16x21 50 gallon aquarium, which I plan on stocking predominately with sps and lps species.

I would like to construct an open concept/minimilistic aquascape. I am interested in the live rock package from tampa bay saltwater, which, for 50 gallons, comes with 100 lb of live rock. This seems like it would be way to much live rock for both my minimilistic desire as well as just in general. Is this rock particularly dense and thus take up way less space than typical LR? I would imagine only wanting appx 30 lbs of LR for the open concept. Planning to have a light bioload, probably 2 osc. clowns and 1 or 2 more nano fish. Anybody with experience regarding the density of the LR from Tampa Bay Saltwater woud be a huge help!

Welcome to R2R! I have not used them, but this is some good general rock density information here.
